Even cave-men got to pack a little extra heat sometimes!
Blue Topaz
My friends took a shot at making their own golden/silver age comic book team, so here is my take on one of their characters, the Blue Topaz! The attitude may very well be far two swarthy for their hero character, but when I started sketching, that is what I ended up drawing!
Brush pen and ink. Colors in Photoshop.
Creature Show: The Baby Sitter
Here's a denizen of the previously mentioned Sketchbook of Doom.
I call this little beauty "The Baby Sitter". Its strange I know, but its pretty much a direct image taken from the recesses of my mind. Hope you enjoy it.
Pen and Ink. Colored in Photoshop.
Out of Gas in The Wrong Neighborhood!
These guys are SO bummed!
Derived from the ol' Sketchbook of Doom! I started out with a central image and decided it needed a few more elements. I liked it, but felt it didn't really tell a story as it was (and story telling is SO what I'm all about) so I added a couple touches (like the rocket) and viola!
Ink on paper, colors in Photoshop.
Ninja vs Monster
What happens when your basic ninja goes up against your basic gruesome monster-type creature? Poor monster-type creature...
Brewing Over Coffee...
I've been relaxing at a local Coffee House recently. It seems conducive to the sketching impulse so here I did a sketch one night while my friend was busy creating this project!
Kingdom Found
I'm reading my friend Josh's cumulative, improvised story called Kingdom Found over on his Story Of The Week Club blog. It's awesome! He's been writing a new chapter every week without any prep. He just dives in and starts storytelling! While reading the first chapter, this particular image stuck in my mind so I decided to bring it to life on paper!
